Clascoterone for Steroid-related Acne Vulgaris in Transgender Male Patients Receiving Masculinizing Hormone Therapy
Mechanism-based acne treatment for transgender patients receiving testosterone currently does not exist and is an unmet medical need. This study explores clascoterone to treat testosterone induced acne. Many treatments we use to treat acne in females cannot be used in transgender males because they interfere with hormone therapy. Androgens have been associated with the development of acne vulgaris. Recently, a topical androgen receptor inhibitor cream (clascoterone) has been FDA-approved for the treatment of acne. However, clinical trials of clascoterone have excluded participants on exogenous hormones. Clascoterone has been ...

CLinical Evaluation Of a comPuter Algorithm To Report BreAst cAncers (CLEOPATRAA)
The goal of this non-interventionist observational study is to test the performance of a computer algorithm (QPORB) which examines breast cancer biopsy digital images to provide diagnostic support. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: 1. The principal research aim is to determine whether 4D Path's Technology Q-Plasia OncoReader Breast, that has been developed in the research setting, works robustly in the clinical environment (i.e. to define its real-life clinical utility) in terms of breast carcinoma grading and molecular subtyping 2. The secondary research aim is to perform an economic analysis...

Clinical Evaluation of an Innovative Non-contact Optical Device for Skin Oxygenation Imaging
According to international consensus, information on the level of skin oxygenation is necessary for the diagnostic management of chronic wounds. The measurement of transcutaneous partial oxygen pressure (or TcPO2, according to the acronym) is measurable with a medical device that uses a Clark electrode. Since the medical device in question is expensive and the measurement time-consuming (approximately 45 minutes per patient), the TcPO2 is only rarely accessible (in hospital medicine as in nursing homes) and is therefore not predominant in the clinical decision. The clinical decision is currently mainly based on the result of the ankle ...

Comparison Between Isotretinoin, Silymarin and Both in the Treatment of Acne Vulgaris
This study aims to compare the effects of isotretinoin and silymarin or both in treatment of acne and their effects on the level of IGF-1, SAA1 and malondialdehyde (MDA) in acne patients.

Comparison of Clinical and Serological Differences Among Juvenile, Adult, and Late-onset Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease with a highly variable presentation and course. It can affect virtually every organ of the body and many symptoms may be observed. Skin, musculoskeletal, hematologic, and serological involvement are most commonly observed. Some patients show predominately hematologic, renal, or central nervous system manifestations. Studies have reported that juvenile-onset SLE patients tend to have a more aggressive presentation and course, with higher rates of organ involvement and lower life expectancy than adult-onset SLE patients. Late-onset SLE patients tend to have a...

Comparison of Effects of Fenofibrate Adjuvant Therapy Versus Conventional Phototherapy in Neonatal Jaundice.
Neonatal jaundice has significant importance in neonatal morbidity and mortality world-wide. Though phototherapy has a relentless use in neonatal jaundice, its cumbersome side effects and the physical separation of baby from the mother eventually result as increase in days of hospitalization adding to the mental anguish of the parents. This study is conducted to observe the reduction of serum bilirubin level in neonates treated with Fenofibrate as an adjuvant to phototherapy in treatment of exaggerated physiological hyperbilirubinemia. After informed consent, single dose of Fenofibrate will be given to the group A (intervention ...

Conception of a Diagnosis, Prognosis and Therapeutic Decision Tool for Patients With Autoimmunity and Inflammation
The main objective of this study is to generate diagnosis and therapeutic-decision tools through the identification of molecular causes of PIDs with autoimmunity/inflammation and the variability in disease outcome at the transcriptional level using a combination of omics signatures (transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, metagenomics, metabolomics and lipidomics).

Developing Screening Clinical Breast Examination Implementation Strategies in South Africa
The goal of this observational study is to engage with multilevel stakeholders to collaboratively and to systematically develop a suite of strategies for implementing breast cancer screening using clinical breast examination (CBE) in the primary health centers within the catchment area of Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (Bara Hospital), Johannesburg, South Africa. The main questions it aims to answer are: What barriers and facilitators exist to conducting screening CBE in Soweto's primary care setting and what implementation strategies would support CBE in primary care clinics? Participants will: - ...

Dupilumab in the Treatment of Pediatric Alopecia Areata
This is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. The study will take place at four sites. This trial will enroll a total of 76 children and adolescent subjects with moderate to severe AA (affecting more than 50% of the scalp) at the time of screening with a targeted 60 subjects completing through Week 48. All subjects must have evidence of hair regrowth within the last 7 years of their last episode of hair loss; and have screening IgE ≥200 and/or have personal and/or familial history of atopy. Study participation will be up to 116 weeks, consisting of: a screening period of up to 4 weeks; a...
